The larger strategic question is whether the US and NATO will provide Ukraine with enough resources to win. In the end, the case for doing so is strong enough that they should and almost certainly will.
Haphazardly throwing arms and money at Ukraine and hoping for the best has been a terrible war strategy. The US Treasury and banks opposed the sanctions and the Pentagon and services all opposed the wasteful arms and ammunition transfers and their advice was disregarded. This is the stupidest administration of my lifetime, and I've been around a while. Worse than LBJ, worse than Carter, worse than Obama. Our Ukraine war strategy is actually more incompetent than what we did in Vietnam or Afghanistan. It's unbelievable.

So far, by fighting and surviving with US and NATO help, Ukraine has inflicted a strategic defeat on Russia. NATO has been reinvigorated, with Sweden and Finland joining as new members. The Russians have suffered the loss of about half of their tank force, the sinking of key parts of their Black Sea fleet, and more than 100,000 men killed. Putin is now openly questioning whether the Russian federation will survive. And a shocked China is questioning whether their military might suffer similar reverses against Taiwan.
