Failing to factor in its history in our discussions of the war is like leaving out the Armistice and Alsace–Lorraine from our discussions of WWII.
The 'rule' is always that nations should not invade one another.
At the same time, it is not America’s job to enforce that rule everywhere in the world.
Failing to factor in its history in our discussions of the war is like leaving out the Armistice and Alsace–Lorraine from our discussions of WWII.
Okay, so go ahead and "factor in" the history - for both Ukraine/Russia and, say, the Alsace-Lorraine for France/Germany today.
Do you agree that it would be about as (un)fair, (in)equitable, and (un)justified for the Germans to seize Alsace-Lorraine today as it has been for Putin's Russia to invade and annex large parts of Ukraine in 2022/23?
And please do "factor in" the history as much as you want!
