O'Neill, however, pushed back on the generals' confidence and their plan for achieving victory. "Generals never seem to have an answer [to] what is winning,"..."But just like anything from war to the vaccine, there's no money in the cure..."So why is this money that we're sending to Ukraine going where we want it?...We're giving the best tanks in the world to people that can defend with them, but then they can also go to the Red Square like they're saying,"...It's a self-licking ice cream corner,..."There's no game plan. There's no preparation."

Didn’t seem to make a lot of sense.
Winning has been defined as beating Putin and effecting regime change in Moscow. Preventing that potential win has been defined by Putin and the Russian military as the reason they will launch nuclear weapons. There’s no mystery about what DC and Brussels consider winning.
>> “There’s no game plan. There’s no preparation.”
Oh but there is... it’s called money laundering
The Pfentagon
DIE desires of liberals means the enemy has to win half thebattles. Fairness is a liberal virtue.
“As long as it takes”
That guy should know that - he was in Afghanistan after all.
They utter logical fallacies and figments of their imaginations. What caused it in so many previously seemingly reasonable people in regards to the same topics? A virus? A drug? I don’t know.
It’s a clearer goal but it is just as unachievable as Afghanistan. There is zero chance the Russians don’t get what they want, and there is nothing the US or NATO can do for Ukraine.
That is about to become apparent very shortly.
Winning is blaming Russia for inflation, shortages, energy scarcity caused by the inane policies of those in power.
Also, to set off a green revolution in Europe and invest in renewables and fairy tales. No more “dirty Russian fossil fuels”! Queen Ursula is creaming herself over this war.
Why do the Russia lovers utter such nonsense?
There is nothing the US and NATO can do for Ukraine?
Are you just angry? Obviously the US and NATO have done tremendously for Ukraine.
And there is zero chance for Ukraine? Zero??
A year into the war they are winning.
So can you say anything credible?
I have no love for either. I spent my life analyzing militaries. This one will be over soon.
Down to the last Ukranian ... every last drop of blood and every last dollar laundered and pocketed.
The Ukrainians are fighting quite bravely and well. I’d absolutely love to see you waltz over there and try to lecture them about how they’re all being sacrificed.
I think you’d last about 30 minutes.
Genuine question. No sarcasm. I respect you views.
With what result?
Russia has already won because it holds all the cards.
Economy, military industry, manpower, corruption dealt with, they learned from their previous bad assumptions, and will now use Russian Army doctrine that will only advance under the umbrella of ISR and IADS. It will be a meat grinder, slow and sure.
Ukraine has no economy, will soon run out of ammunition, NATO and the US don’t have the military production capacity to make a difference. General officers are already talking about that.
In the simplest of terms, there is no path for Ukraine to win. Everyone is going to get a lesson on Clausewitz from their living rooms.

Hey, you promised that a year ago, what happened?
Thank you. I value your opinion.
Not sure I promised anything a year ago, unless we are talking late 2022. I was working construction when this kicked off, and didn’t have time to offer an analysis. Besides, the referendum wasn’t passed until September, and that was the game-changer.
In one year, the Russian Army retooled itself. The Russian economy went on a war-footing, unlike NATO or the US. They acted off of bad intelligence or bad assumptions; sometimes bad assumptions from policymakers, really, really screw the intelligence efforts. We do it all the time too. Afghanistan, Iraq, and Vietnam all say hello.
But the best of the Ukrainian army has already been shattered. Their new 60K strong force will be ill-equipped, under-supplied; against no less than 350,000 Russians following their doctrine. They will follow their doctrine this time.
