you got it backwards®p> that why you Russian shills are always screaming for the sanctions to stop"
Maybe both NATO and Russia are being drained with China eagerly standing by to pick up the pieces. Xi can emerge as the true world leader as the maniacal Putin and doddering Biden weaken their nations.
Don’t forget, CIA chief Burns gave Putin the green light from Biden to invade Ukraine in a minor incursion on his visit to Moscow on Nov 2, 2021. There were assurances that Zelensky would flee to Poland. And we know how that all worked out.
Only Putin knew he made his made to invade. Everyone else thought that the Russians were conducting maneuvers in Belarus, except for the Americans who thought that Putin was going to invade. Well, our intelligence (for once) was correct.
*made up his mind
A’stan was their Viet Nam. But, the Russians will walk away from THIS with more than a bloody nose and a hang over
Yes, I agree, everyone should read the pack of lies that Putin disgorged in his speech on Tuesday. Here is the link: http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/70565
Let’s start with the big reveal that show Putin’s true intentions. On multiple occasions in the speech, he refers to Russia’s “historical lands”, “historical territories”, “historical reaches of our state”, “historical space of old great Russia”. This is what Putin’s ambition is all about, the restoration of “old great Russia” to its “historical territories.” Every other purported rationalization for the war is just a subterfuge.
Putin once again made the argument that the entire concept of a Ukrainian national identity is an anti-Russian project started in the West in the 19th century to “deprive Russia of these historical territories that are now called Ukraine.” I should remind everyone that in a previous article Putin said that the Ukrainians (whom he calls “Little Russians”) are actually part of the Russian nation and not a separate people. In Putin’s world view, as evidenced by his own words, the existence of an independent Ukraine is just plot to split historical territories from Russia.
Putin failed to mention that Russian aggression against Ukraine actually started in 2004, when Russian agents attempted to assassinate Viktor Yushchenko, then a pro-Western presidential candidate, using dioxin poison.
Putin once again referred to the democratically-elected Ukrainian government as a “neo-Nazi regime”. Recall that one of the stated goals of his “special military action” was the “denazification” of Ukraine. The logic of this statement is that his military action against Ukraine included a goal of regime change, i.e., the removal of the current democratically-elected government and the installation of a new regime selected by Moscow.
Putin flipped on its head the reality of what happened in the Donbas in 2014, which was that Russia used the ethnic minority Russian population in these provinces to forment an insurrection. Putin also conveniently forgets to mention that Russia invaded Ukraine (Crimea) in 2014.
Putin asserted that Russia was doing everything in its power to solve the Donbas crisis by peaceful means, ignoring that Russia was supplying heavy weapons and foreign fighters to its proxies in the Donbas.
When discussing the Minsk Agreements, Putin ignores the multiple violations of these agreements by Moscow:
1) Failure to withdraw heavy weapons and foreign fighters as required. The OSCE has reported that the Russian proxy forces commonly stationed its heavy weapons next to civilian hospitals, schools and apartments, thus using civilians as human shields.
2) Failure to restore control of the border to Ukraine as required.
3) Failure to hold local elections in accordance to Ukrainian law and under OSCE supervision as required. Instead, just three months after signing Minsk II, Russia staged illegal and unsupervised elections, in direct violation of Minsk II.
4) Multiple violations of ceasefires and military advances into territories controlled by the Ukrainian government.
Finally, the “draft agreement” Russia submitted to the US and NATO in 2021 was actually an ultimatum that demanded a NATO rollback to its 1997 positions and would have undermined the security of NATO members.
Yes, everyone should read Putin’s speech as it reveals his perfidy.
“Putin flipped on its head the reality of what happened in the Donbas in 2014, which was that Russia used the ethnic minority Russian population in these provinces to forment an insurrection. Putin also conveniently forgets to mention that Russia invaded Ukraine (Crimea) in 2014.”
Trump doesn’t agree with any of this. You write your own fiction - doesn’t mean normal people have to believe you.
Russia didn’t invade in 2014? The “little green men” just sprouted out from the ground by themselves? 🙄
And what did the U.S. do to prevent this from happening?
I still don’t know how this war benefits the American public, other than to prepare them to fly Taiwanese flags along with their other collections of virtue signals.
How Timber Rattler blundered into thinking Ukraine wasn’t a set up by the West and is a sucker for CIA distorted news.
Here is a different take. No “green light” was given:
“President Joe Biden on Wednesday predicted Russia “will move in” to Ukraine, citing existential concerns by the country’s president, Vladimir Putin, even as he acknowledged disunity within NATO over how to respond to a “minor incursion.”
The candid assessment laid bare the struggle Biden faces in creating meaningful consequences and deterrents for Moscow, which remains closely intertwined economically with the United States’ top European partners.
The remark elicited near-immediate outcry in Kyiv, where officials have been meeting with Biden’s top diplomat as Russian troops amass on the country’s border. High-level attempts to clean-up the comment soon followed at the White House.
While Biden vowed withering economic consequences on Russia should Putin send his troops over the frontier, including restricting its financial transitions in US dollars, he suggested Western nations were not in sync on what to do should a lesser violation occur...”

Thanks for your interesting comment.
“Russians are not original but they are Russian.”
do you think they can adapt and adjust to new circumstances?
Re: Ukrainians
my understanding is that Ukraine was settled by Greeks, Jews and Vikings. They are not Slavs or Russians, though they have been conquered and controlled many times so they have an added mix of many nationalities. I believe the Mongols controlled them longer than any of the others.
Ukraine existed in the Middle Ages and before. It is far older than Russia...
Ukrainians are an East Slavic ethnic group native to Ukraine.
Just facts. I sling them.
The East Slavs are the most populous subgroup of the Slavs. They speak the East Slavic languages, and formed the majority of the population of the medieval state Kievan Rus’, which they claim as their cultural ancestor. Today, the East Slavs consist of Belarusians, Russians, and Ukrainians.
This is Cain and Able 2.0
Brother killing brother. One brother backed by NATO. The other not annihilating the other for he knows it is his brother. Russia does not want a Cain and Able story. They also do not want a place with literal Nazis backed by the west on their doorstep, hence the war.
