I don’t consider it ‘grift’ when I willingly sign up for a newsletter or website offering. I subscribe to Mark Steyn & The Blaze among others. It’s just a snotty way to demean someone.

Grift is a form of swindling someone like when they sell you a product which is mostly misinformation or otherwise fraudulent. Malone’s newletter is misinformation designed to appeal to the anti-vaxxer fringe. Mercola’s website is devoted to homeopathic, alternative, medicines with no proven value. So, yes, they are grifters.
