You seem to have a comprehension issue, both agree that 18 million Ukrainians left Ukraine, mostly women and children, but Der Spiegel doesn't mention the fact that 10 million refugees returned to Ukraine. After the Russian retreat(or according to you strategic withdrawal) from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Kherson many refugees returned home to Ukraine leaving 8 million still in Europe.

I wrote “I trust Der Spiegel far more than the despicable UN and the IMF” which does not mean I fully trust Der Spiegel.
