IF his point stopped with “Cable news hosts make money creating fear” he would be dead on. Every single one of them drum up drama and fear. That is how we have gotten into most of the trouble and conflicts our country has been involved in over the last 30+ years.
Fear, however, has nothing to do with waning support for Ukraine among conservatives. If anything, we are recovering from the delusion that we had any business getting as involved with Ukraine as we have so far. We are coming to the rational conclusion that it isn’t worth adding 100s of billions to our debt, decreasing our own military readiness by handing over short supplies of hardware and risking a direct conflict with Russia for the sake a of a corrupt kleptocracy.
Do I think Ukraine has every right to defend themselves? Absolutely! Do I believe that we should be sending them billions in direct military aid? Prove it to me.
