I concur.
I think this is why the people really running the USA appear to have made a decision that either Putin wont escalate to nukes no matter what all we do in Ukraine. Or, that the sorry state of their arsenal is worth the once in a lifetime opportunity to really throttle Russias ability to threaten anybody. Not sure I agree with those assessments but they aren’t asking me.

We have a lot of ways to detect and track “these sort of things.” We have our confirmation. The sentence that seems to have you reaching for your pearls is just a statement that Putin would have mentioned it in his speech had the test been successful; that is pretty basic. It’s the same as saying there are some Russian shills here on FR who won’t admit to being wrong about comments they make that are clearly wrong, and have been shown to be wrong.
