And a lot of those coal mining immigrants belonged to my family on dad’s side in Simpson, Honesdale and Scranton, PA. They didn’t get free government handouts when they arrived here in the late 1800s. They only thing they were given is the opportunity. They worked and worked hard to be here, to raise their kids to become REAL AMERICANS and to survive. Some fought in WWI and all of them fought in WWII.
