A couple of years ago, I might have thought that was crazy, but now, I think it’s quite plausible.
Have any of you alarmists considered that we have a maintenance problem on our hands? As an engineer who spent a lifetime in flammable process plants I have noticed that, over the years, many of them are operated by skeleton crews in order to save money? When I started, many years ago, newcomers received on the job training. That’s no longer the case. Find out how many operating personnel are on the street because of lay offs and plants moving abroad. We are doing everything the cheap way in this country and it will bite us in the ass. Many plants are just understaffed. We don’t even have enough people to do the required safety walk-throughs and compared to our politicians, technical personnel in America are highly underpaid. F’n engineers work like dogs and are paid a pittance.
