Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) hinted on Monday that he will make a decision on a 2024 presidential run after the state’s legislative session wraps up in May, giving the clearest timeline yet of when he could enter the race.
Asked on “Fox & Friends” when he might decide on a White House bid, DeSantis mapped out the coming months, saying that he would embark on a tour to promote his new book, “The Courage to be Free,” and work through the Florida legislature’s regular session, which begins in early March.
“We’re going to sell some books, we’re going to spread the message of Florida. And then on March 8, I have our Legislative Session that’s kicking off,” DeSantis said.
“You ain’t seen nothing yet,” he added. “This is going to be the most productive Legislative Session we have had across the board and I think people are going to be really excited … So those are what we’re going to be doing over these next few months as we get beyond that, then we can decide from there.”
Republican sources have long predicted that DeSantis would wait until after the state legislative session to announce a presidential bid, saying that it would give him a chance to rack up new policy victories so that he hits the campaign trail with fresh momentum.

I meant that DeSantis is positioning himself to make a deal with Trump to be his VP pick. Notice how DeSantis isn’t responding to Trumps insults.
It’s a fine line for DeSantis to walk. He needs to be seen as enough of a threat to Trump, but not too much.
That’s my theory anyway. I’m not a political commentator, nor do I play one on TV.
Perfect takedown of their "guilt by association" nonsense by posting pics of Obama, Schumer, etc being with Trump. Misdirection BS is all they have, too, just like Trump.
DeSantis thinks not voter ID, mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting are bad things, so he worked to change those laws in Florida resulting in a 20 point victory.
Trump came around to addressing ballot harvesting last week. He is way behind the curveball.
You seem obtuse, smarten up.
I do love it!
Not at all angry! I am laughing at your pathetic attack on DeSantis and proving what a childish fool you are to every FReeper.
You cannot even see that your attacks on DeSantis are as juvenile as those of Colber were on Trump.
Yoda said it best:
Do.
Or do not.
The foreplay is getting boring.
I like what DeSantis has done in Florida. It’s becoming a solid, reliable red state. And, it’s my favorite vacation spot. National politics has become such a mess, and the federal government is so toxic that I’d rather see DeSantis just stay away. But, it’s a hard thing for politicians to do- the lure of the most powerful job in the world is mighty tempting.
Do you really think if DeSantis somehow won the primary, which he won’t, do ya really think tens of millions of Trump supporters, after being robbed of their sacred votes, will suddenly willy nilly line up behind yet another back stabbing lawyer turned career politician?
??
The 12th Amendment prevents the President and Vice President from being from the same state. I don’t see either one giving up their Florida statehood.
this is less about DeSantis and more about Florida’s 30 electoral votes and the damage Trump may be doing to himself in that state ...

Much like President Trump endorsing Mitt Romney for the US Senate race.
What a tedious way to argue a point, no?
If DeSantis wins the primary, you will have lost the primary, not had your votes "stolen."
Trump is doing a good job making sure NO Republican can win this time.
Trump's negatives are so high, he has no chance in the general. Trump is simply trying to push DeSantis's negatives up to his level, so he can even get to the general.
This level of attack, this far out ahead of the traditional primary season, against a faux opponent who hasn't even declared yet, is not only unprecedented, it's actually quite dangerous.
Trumptards don't care. Him or no one. Nevermind he's practically 80, and shot up with his wondershot several times now, if he's even telling the truth about that.
President Trump would have to decide what he wanted to do if he lost in the primaries.
He would have several options.
One of them would be to support DeSantis.
Either he would or he would not...that would be his call—not mine and not yours.

This is a yes or no question. No need to get wordy.
Yes, some will, the ones who truly care about America. Some others will vote for Biden or whoever the Democratic opponent is, just to make sure DeSantis loses. Like probably Trump.
do you believe desantis supporters will vote for trump?...
yes or no...
