For the last four years at her Christian college, Gracie Turner had been keeping a secret.
She had lost her faith.
In high school, she watched cancer ravage her great-grandmother. Then she saw her family fall apart. One fight drove her to call the police on a relative.
“I just remember thinking, why is this happening? How could this happen? And my first thought, or first person to blame was God,” Turner, a 21-year-old film major, told me. “I would lay in bed sometimes and just pray to God, like, it would be really nice if I didn’t wake up tomorrow.”
When she got to Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, she was required to go to chapel three times a week for college credit. But she never believed God would fix anything, since life only seemed to be getting harder between the anxiety, depression, and recent back injury that brought her to a “breaking point.”

I’m sure the FBI is keeping an eye on them.
An article over the weekend reported the University President put an end to revival activities. If true, this is a really bad look.
This is a good thing. But yes, I do wonder if the FBI is taking names and photos of radicalized believers? Those horrible thoughts and prayers! Oh my!
The time is right for a powerful Holy Spirit revival. So many young people (and adults) are so confused.
On a personal lever, I believe I have felt the Holy Spirit moving in my life lately (it's hard to explain). When I first heard about the Asbury revival, my immediate thought was, "that's exactly what I have been feeling lately...this intense urge to pray and pray hard." It even makes me emotional at the oddest of times (and I'm not prone to such). I wonder if other Freepers have had the same experience?
There's no doubt that He is needed right now. Things look pretty bleak.
Our society is crumbling and I'm sure young people in college are particularly aware of how desperate and hopeless things look.
It would be wonderful to see the Holy Spirit fill up the emptiness in the lives of Americans right now. I sure can visualize it. What a wildfire it would be.
Our country has gone bat guano crazy (as we all know) and the Holy Spirit is desperately needed. I pray that this revival is just the beginning.
That said, there may be some ebbing and flowing initially. But I think the revival fire has been kindled.
People are ready. You can see it in the Asbury revival videos.
Even the FBI might catch the revival fire. God knows they need it.;-)
I’ll like it when it takes over faculty.

I pray the FBI feels the Holy Spirit soon and catches fire. This revivals is cool. Reminds me of the Jesus Freak days of yore.
>> From what I’ve read, the president at Asbury is a good guy. If the Holy Spirit is on the move, the president will recognize what is going on and get out of the way
Please see the following for a different perspective on the administration’s actions: https://stream.org/asbury-revival-god-is-moving-at-asbury-university-stirring-hunger-for-god/
I, too, was dismayed when I heard “they canceled the revival!!!” The reality is a bit more complex (and uplifting).
Blessings in Christ!
“ the University President put an end to revival activities. I”
Not true.
They are just moving much activity off campus so classes can take place.
A revival is supposed to spread, not stay in place.
For the past two Sundays our Bible preaching minister has reported on the Asbury Awakening and asked us to pray that it would continue and spread over the land even to our little rural corner of Texas. Had never seen him as emotional as he's been in those two sermons.
“And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams' Acts 2:17
The FBI is more convinced of God’s existence than those who pray to Him.
Its spreading to other states
>>”that’s exactly what I have been feeling lately...this intense urge to pray and pray hard.”<<
Lost that feeling many years ago. God hears prayers of those He favors and ignores the rest.
