RE: Er, Mr Biden, aren’t you a white person?

Biden: C’mon, man, I’m getting old and forgetful. What was the question again?

Winning the election is the ultimate satisfaction..... the jabs and stabs don’t last any longer than a joke at a comedy club.

I have paid a huge price..... several hundred thousand dollars at least, in lost wealth since a 3-time failed candidate won an election from his basement. Yeah, I know, the game was rigged and all that, but now I am most worried about my kids.

Trump does not win crap with all the noise. Nothing. I will vote for him. You will vote for him. His base will vote for him. He will win the primary easily. There is no more upside for his shtick - none.

If he goes scorched earth he will lose the real election and what then? Are we going to sit around and remember the good old days prior to Covid when he scored a neat jab on Romney?

I can’t spend his sharp tongue. My kids won’t have a better life because of his tweets/truths or whatever we call them. I want to win the only thing that counts and that isn’t a pissing contest in a primary or a thread on FR.

I accept that our national politics are full of narcissism and it matters not what side of the aisle. We already hate the uniparty..... I WANT TO WIN. That is the ultimate revenge and once he is there I want him to legislate with congress so the next communist or RINO can’t erase most of what he did with a pen.

Biden, like Obama, is trying to divide Americans by race and other factors. A true leader would be trying to bring Americans together.

50 years ago, a racially divided Hollywood

Fifty years ago this week, Sammy Davis Jr. was roundly booed during the opening ceremony of the 1960 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. The incident was one of the saddest moments in the entertainer's life and pointed up the deep racial divide that was threatening to rip apart the Democratic Party and the country.

Fifty years ago this week, Sammy Davis Jr. was roundly booed during the opening ceremony of the 1960 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. The incident was one of the saddest moments in the entertainer’s life and pointed up the deep racial divide that was threatening to rip apart the Democratic Party and the country.

Then came the introduction of the Hollywood celebrities who were packed into the crowded hall as guests of the convention. Three of the five-member Rat Pack were there: Davis, Frank Sinatra and Peter Lawford. Tony Curtis and his wife, Janet Leigh, were on hand, as was Nat King Cole, Shirley MacLaine, Lee Marvin, Edward G. Robinson, Hope Lange, Lloyd Bridges and Vincent Price.

Everyone was greeted with cheers except Davis, who was booed by many of the white Southern delegates — not because he was unpopular but because he was engaged to a white woman, Swedish actress May Britt.

A headline over a New York Times story the next day read, “Delegates Boo Negro.”

Yes, those Dems always made sure everyone they wanted to use was on the plantation until no longer useful.

Frank Sinatra later became a staunch Republican and one of his the daughter Nancy’s memoirs included remembering the kids liking it that Spiro Agnew was frequently over and sharing the swimming pool with them.

BS. Trump’s “shtick” got him more votes than any sitting President ever. He won in a landslide before the cheating hit. Now part of his “shtick” is to start a massive ballot harvesting op that will likely be better run and more effective than the democrat party operation. Look at all the crap the uniparty rolled out to beat him. COVID, lock downs, mass mail. The establishment of both parties pulled out ALL the stops to get rid of Trump. Just look at all the Uniparty keeps doing to destroy him and anyone supporting him. It sure looks to me like the Uniparty takes Trump’s “shtick” deadly seriously, mostly because it works. The truth is that another establishment uniparty republican candidate winning is not a win for anything but the swamp and that’s all there is besides Trump. We’ve already that more than once and things just got worse.

Once again....... he has my vote. He has yours.

Ours are NOT the votes he needs to be concerned with. IF he gets drawn into a nasty primary with the media hyperventilating and “DeSantis supporters” become pissed off (with the media fanning the flames) he will lose the election.

I want to win. What is so hard to understand about this? Focus on the general election and look like a boss. Jump into the mudpit and fight with people who are not relevant and you are doing exactly what the GOPe and media want. That is where the election is won or lost (assuming we can even run a fair election) - the base is not going anywhere.

I just pointed out that Trump got the most votes of any sitting President ever. He’s got more than your and my votes. What’s so hard to understand about that? He will likely get more votes this time than he did in 2020. If he is successful with ballot harvesting you will suddenly see the Rats become all about election integrity. I mentioned Desantis supporters when I mentioned uniparty republicans.

There are a few things for all of us (me too) to be careful with -

Is DeSantis a uniparty swamp creature or is he simply the most viable option for the uniparty to dethrone Trump? I don’t know. I have posted several times that those supporting him give me pause. However, DeSantis has been quite innovative in Florida, has certainly not governed as a status quo guy, and he has not shied away from fights that turn most republicrats stomachs to jelly.

He is incredible on the issue of schools - something that I view as supremely important. You have to give him props for that and recognize that he is the current flavor of the month in the endless “orange man bad” parade, but he has earned the right to be examined on his own merits. There is no republican in the country who adopted the lessons of Trump more than DeSantis.

I have said many times that I believe Trump won the election. Remove the illegal ballots and processes from the 2020 election and it would not have been close, but here we are. I know more than a few conservatives who are tired of his antics. Their words, not mine. IF he goes scorched earth in the 2024 primary he will lose votes - not gain them. You may believe differently, but I will still think that his ability to gain votes with this behavior is far less than his ability to lose votes. DeSantis is very popular in Florida and has a loyal following elsewhere. Trump “lost” the election by about a 100k votes give or take in the key states. It could be a difference and if he goes scorched earth on DeSantis it may cost him (and us down the road).

For me the smart play seems to be for Trump to simply act like he will win and focus on the general election rather than trash his “competition”. I am confident he has the primary in the bag easily because his base vote is far larger and more motivated that the typical GOP primary voter. He just gives the media ammunition and now that he is a former President it seems beneath him.

I can agree to disagree, but in the final calculation all I care about is winning because my kids (and I but I matter less) cannot afford another 4 years of this nonsense. These people are not just inept either - my kids are all of an age where they can be called to serve (as I voluntarily did) and I don’t want any part of that under this regime. Biden has us closer to WW3 than I would ever have imagined. We have the potential for nuclear war in Europe and conventional war in the South China Sea. They are dangerous and we must get rid of them.

I want Trump to win, but frankly his last year as President was not much to crow about (he turned over his Presidency to Fauci), he still does not comprehend how he was played with the vaccines, and if he allows his ego to come before the safety and welfare of my children it will be unforgivable for me. He needs to focus on issues and his track record (before Covid) and leave the noise for the media. They will drown us in it no matter what.

G W Bush was a good Governor too. Also Ivy League educated and a former military officer. The two have similar resumes pre Presidency. I expect similar results if Desantis is elected. I’ve already seen that movie and don’t need to see the sequel. Desantis is a professional politician and will likely turn out to be similar to other professional politicians once he gets to DC. Bush fooled me. I thought he would keep his promises. The Bush presidency was a good lesson on how establishment uniparty candidates act once the get to the White House. I suspect Desantis would be similar in the position.
