Four U.S. service members were wounded by an explosion during a helicopter raid in northeast Syria on Thursday night. A senior ISIS leader was killed in the mission, officials said.
"Last night, during a partnered U.S. and Syrian Democratic Forces helicopter raid in northeastern Syria, an explosion on target resulted in four U.S. servicemembers and one working dog wounded," said a statement from U.S. Central command.
"The U.S. service members and working dog are receiving treatment in a U.S. medical facility in Iraq," U.S. Central Command said in a statement.
The ISIS leader who was targeted in the raid and who was killed was identified as Hamza al-Homsi.

This brings back good memories from when I was following the progress of our military support of the N. Syrian Kurds and their allies.
I miss them. They went underground as far as news after ISIS was almost totally eliminated in NE Syria.
Kurds, Syriacs and their Muslim allies worked well with our military support. Our soldiers and spooks had deep respect for them in battle.

Reading between the lines, I’m going to guess that an idiot “Syrian Democratic Force” member had a negligent discharge of a hand grenade.
The Kurds certainly have no love for Assad, another Baath butcher like Saddam. But they are good fighters against ISIS whom they hate even more. And we use the Syrian oil field our forces control to pay for the whole operation, which is not a bad deal for the US.
The USA has absolutely no business in Syria. None.
