Reverse the races and this would have been a wall to wall national news story with the President and members of his administration visiting the school. And I’m not even saying that shouldn’t be the case if that had happened - but given the fact the media and political figures are silent on this story just further proves they are not bothered by racial violence, but see it as a political opportunity if it can fit a certain narrative.
True, the atypical white people who targeted blacks in the 1950s and early 1960s gave a bad name to the majority.
Blacks are still holding grudges for the Emmett Till and other examples which even at the time probably 0.001% of white people condoned.
Photo exhibit at the Rosa Parks bus exhibit area of the Henry Ford Museum show many white people in the marches for black rights. Let’s imagine a march today to support police (I said “imagine.”) Would there be even 1% black people there?
Controversy alert: I think black people today are far more racist than 99% of whites were when I grew up (born 1946). They don’t even have to feel furtive about it. Just IMHO.
The fact that a black man could be elected President twice has to show something about the still majority white adult demographic. Nobody forced America to do that.
