You know, it’s interesting. I have agreed with you in the past on many things, especially as they relate to the South. My heritage is Deep South (Louisiana), as is my wife’s: Hell, her family goes back to Louisiana when it was French, then Spanish, then French again; in other words, before it was ever part of the United States.
