Read the article twice and couldn’t find reference to the crime with which she was charged.

I know the Russians imprison domestic “enemies” with regularity, but surely they at least assign a bogus charge.

Publishing disinformation or outright Kiev propo was her “ crime”

Doesn’t sound like she interviewed a lot of the Mariupol
residents who were there and had a far different story

Ponomarenko was charged under a Russian law that appeared on the books shortly after the Feb. 24, 2022, when the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. The law forbids the ‘dissemination of false information about the Russian Armed Forces.” All signs seem to indicate that prosecutors do not intend to be lenient with Ponomarenko.
