I just hope her car doesn’t need major repairs. I have no sympathy for the thief. He chose to put himself in that situation, and suffered the consequences. He is the only one to blame. The driver has NO responsibility and should feel no grief.

True, but a lot easier said than done. She will feel grief for a long time and struggle to rationalize that what she did was ok and logical.
