Many of these cases are “family” related—typically a father has been crushed in divorce court and kidnaps the kid, or the baby daddy decides he wants custody so grabs the kid, or the baby momma decides she wants custody so grabs the kid.

Many of these cases are “family” related—typically a father has been crushed in divorce court and kidnaps the kid, or the baby daddy decides he wants custody so grabs the kid, or the baby momma decides she wants custody so grabs the kid.The first time I was awoken at three A.M. by a screeching "Amber Alert" alarm on my phone, it turned out to be a custody dispute case.
I turned that crap off.
Amber Alerts weren't supposed to be used for custody disputes (where a child really isn't in danger) but that seems to be all they're used for these days.
