I think it's more of a lifestyle situation.
Missing persons databases are full of tens of thousands of white people who have gone missing over the years. Many of them were living high-risk lives; drug abuse, prostitution, crime, etc. Often, they're not even reported missing for weeks or even months, if ever at all (at which point their bodies might wind up on "unidentified decedent" web pages).
They don't make the news so much.
But, yes, a pretty young girl leaves for school on her bicycle or a housewife goes grocery shopping never to be seen again, these stories are newsworthy regardless of the race. I dunno. Maybe these type of cases tend to happen more to white people?
