When my son was 12, we saw flappy-jawed Sharpton on TV mouthing off. My son asks where his church is. I tell him self ordained means he probably filled out something from a matchbook and sent it in.
My son disappeared to his room for about 15 minutes. He came back in the room beaming and proudly displaying his certificate he just printed on his computer. My son was now a self ordained minister of the Church of the Universal World.
It still is brought up on occasion 20 years later.
