The nice thing about being both a beacon of hope for the entire world *and* its economic juggernaut* is you get a regular stream of walk-in defectors. The latest is a Russian who claims to have worked on the TU-160 aka the Blackjack supersonic bomber. His participation in anti-invasion protests put him on Putin’s radar screen. He was presumably unfazed by Russian reports of Americans going cold and hungry, thanks to ineffective and counterproductive sanctions on Russia.
* The Bulgarian propagandist Daniel Ivandjiiski aka Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge, and Martin Armstrong the Ponzi fraudster at Armstrong Economics would have their readers believing that the US is on the verge of societal and economic collapse. Defectors to the US are presumably skeptical. It’s said the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Since Armstrong and Ivandjiiski continue residing in the US instead of Russia, one might be tempted to interpret that as a vote of confidence, and not in Russia’s favor.

“While similar in appearance to the American B-1 Lancer, the Tu-160 is a different class of combat aircraft; its primary role being a standoff missile platform (strategic missile carrier)”

After the Brandon administration is done interviewing him, they will repatriate him.
For cryin’ out loud the whole freakin’ world wants in here!
On the old FR, getting what might be an important defector would have been seen as great news and everyone would be happy.
