Michigan lost both the GOP state legislature and the GOP state senate for the first time in many decades last fall, and the blue executive positions like WHitler all retained elected positions when the “red wave” completely failed.
Just 4 years ago every elected executive position statewide was red, big majority in congress etc. We were two senators away from being the reddest state in the union.

MI has a republican President of the United States.

MI has a republican Governor.

And in 2023 MI isn’t even a purple state now, it is blue state.
Why did this happen? IMO the GOPe sucked so bad in recent years that republicans/conservatives didn’t show up at the polls, the days of voting for the lesser of evils (GOPe) is over.

Whitmner blew out Dixon by 150K votes in Oakland county which borders Detroit(Wayne county). That is big blowout for a wealthy county. The same thing is going on in Illinois. The counties that surround Cook county(Chicago) use to be red. They are all blue now.
A lot of Michigan people move to Florida.
