It could explain things....but I would think Canada would have objected to US fighters enterring its airspace to shoot it down. If that happened, then US military would have to 'muscle in' with the demand that Canada not harbor aircraft/equipment that threatens US national security. So Canada maybe couldn't stop the shootdown but protected the wreckage?

Tell me abut it. Repo was the only decent movie that made any money that Emilio Gonzalez made. Back then the movie theater audiences were in awe of the Repo special effects. I know that I was. Dumbass Avatar movies, stand back with your creepy blue tailed humanoids. That planet needs to be nuked from orbit into nothingness.
What Chinese balloon fiasco? This balloon was tracked across the country, we got to see what the Chinese were looking at while we masked any electronic communications they were trying to read. Then we shot down this 200 feet tall balloon and solid parts over the ocean where it would not harm people on the ground and destroy fragile parts in the balloon. Now we have much less severely damaged Chinese asset to examine more completely and at our leisure. Sounds like a WIN to me.
