Newly elected Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., has described his severe hearing disability as causing him to hear the voice of the teacher from the "Peanuts" cartoon when listening to people speak, the New York Times reported.
Fetterman suffered a stroke in May 2022 while campaigning for Pennsylvania's open Senate seat, causing him to have cognitive issues, including a problem with auditory processing.
The senator, who is in the hospital after experiencing lightheadedness Wednesday, has also struggled to adjust to life in the Senate, given the challenges of recovering from his stroke and the need for technological tools to help him conduct conversations with staff and colleagues.
Fetterman has to carry around a closed captioning device that types out what is being said to him so that he can have conversations, since he cannot fully understand the spoken word on his own.

Agreed. The fix took control. The Bidenish-Fetermanish office holders are everything a bureaucratic state could ask for. A meat puppet that follows orders. Look for more cognitively impared and intellectually insufficient candidates in 2024. It’s the new preferred office holder. More manageable and disciplined. They have no idea what they have said or thought, just reading their script.

Didn’t he say that is how he perceived verbal/audible language before this recent stroke. Yet he was allowed to be a candidate and was selected, I mean elected anyway.
Exactly. This is not new.
It can be a combination. I truly believe we don’t do outreach well. Why after 50 years do we not do souls to the polls? Throw some BBQ out after church and have them vote. The reason democrats do this is to bank votes so they don’t waste their time calling people who voted already. Our paradigm must change. It’s BS to have our party only vote Election Day. Get a mail in ballot of every registered republican in the country and bug them until they send it in. Get handicapped people a free ride to the polls to vote. That’s how you win in todays world. We treat voting like the 1970’s. We’re behind the times.

I would no longer assume that "what the people want" has any connection to who wins the "elections". That gets decided by the Democrats who count the ballots.

If John Fetterman had died 2 weeks before the last election, long after 100s of thousands of votes were cast making it impossible to switch candidates, he would have still won the election, Democrats don’t care, so long as one from their team wins and they get the vote, they could care less if the person is a brain-dead vegetable.

That's is not what the headline implies at all. He is not hearing voices as in a mental condition. He has impaired hearing.
I have profound hearing loss in one ear after an aircraft landing accident. Without a hearing aid I can describe voices in almost the same way in that ear. Very muffled and indistinct kind of like "wawa...wawa".
I have no sympathy for him though. I know what a limitation it is and don't BS people about it.

Just to be clear — this is a report of his health after the stroke last year and not the recent episode where he went to the hospital based on lightheadedness.
