The Budapest memorandum was not submitted to the US Senate as a treaty, so the US is not legally obligated by a treaty to assist Ukraine. The Senate, as you know, has multiple times voted to appropriate aid for Ukraine, since that country was invaded on February 24, 2022.

I think it is safe to predict that Ukraine will be the last nation to ever voluntarily give up nuclear weapons.

I thought Ukraine was defeating Russia? If Russia is so handily and unequivocally being defeated by the Ukrainians then we mostly certainly don’t need to be involved. It’s not our problem. Our problem is the invasion on the SW border which makes the Russian invasion of Ukraine pale in comparison. Is Russia occupying American territory? Nope, that would be Mexican Drug Cartels that have control of US territory. Tulare, Siskiyou, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties in California are part of the budding Cartel empire in the US.
