First time I’ve ever read a civil attorney who writes scholarly articles is a “prominent criminal,” Try reading it again. He is not described as a "prominent criminal". He is described as practicing law in two different fields.

Correro was a prominent criminal and civil attorney with law offices in Houston. Now tell me he wasn't a prominent criminal! It's plain as day. He also happened to be a civil attorney.
