Ukraine is prepared to use British long-range missiles to hit Crimea, the peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014, in a potential major escalation of western involvement in the war.
Rishi Sunak promised to send Ukraine more military aid following a visit by President Zelensky to Britain this week. Discussions are now taking place over whether this should include Harpoon anti-ship missiles or air-to-surface Storm Shadows.
Ukrainian defence sources confirmed to The Times that Kyiv would be prepared to use the missiles to strike Crimea following a warning from Zelensky that longer-range weapons from western allies would strike “deep in the occupied territories”.
Harpoon missiles cost about £1.2 million each and have a maximum range of 150 miles. Storm Shadow missiles cost about £2.2 million and can fire at targets as far as 350 miles away, although modified versions for export have a significantly shorter range.
Western allies have softened their stance in recent weeks on sending offensive weapons and appear to have accepted Kyiv’s arguments that Crimea is occupied territory that constitutes a legitimate target.

The British involvement in Crimea was effective in hindering the Russian efforts to eject Islam from Europe, and is one reason that to this day Thrace is under Turkish governance.
Actually, it’s not. It became Russian in 1783. Internal Soviet borders are no longer binding.
LMAO
Ukraine lost its sovereignty (which it only had for 23 years) in 2014, thanks to Obama & Biden.
Stumps them who the British fought in the Crimean war of the 1850s.
“Biden is dragging his feet. He needs to ante up so Putin will be forced to come to the table”.
LMAO
“”The borders in Europe have gone back and forth for a thousand years without any help from the USA.””
You are including the last 100+ years?
I am going to write to King Charles and demand that he return my ancestral lands of Tara and Meath!
You do realize that Crimea was part of Russia before California was part of the USA, right?
“Actually, it’s not. It became Russian in 1783. Internal Soviet borders are no longer binding.”
Yet, Russia recognized Ukraine’s borders in 1992, and 1994; and Crimea was within those borders. If Crimea was not within Ukraine’s borders, then why did Russia sign an agreement with Ukraine to have its naval base there?
“Ukraine lost its sovereignty (which it only had for 23 years) in 2014, thanks to Obama & Biden.”
How do you figure that?
As it starts looking more and more like Ukraine is going to lose, expect a horrible American false flag attack using chemical weapons attack maybe even a small nuke that “President” Biden will use as pretext for America officially joining the war.
When they became a full time puppet with a muppet leader for the west. Is the west the good guys? I can’t keep track these days.
“When they became a full time puppet with a muppet leader for the west.”
Ukraine wanted closer relations with the West, and had for years before Zelensky became president in 2019. There were measures passed by the RADA (the Ukrainian Parliament) to move forward with ties to the West, especially Europe and the EU. Yanukovych scuttled those plans after having campaigned for them when he ran for president. Then, when he was in office, he did an about-face and started to do Putin’s bidding. THAT is what caused the turmoil in 2013 and 2014.
Except for the ethnic Russians Ukraine has been killing since 2014.
Ask Orban about the Ukraine army killing ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine.
Ukraine wants only pure blood Ukrainians living there.
They kill the others especially the roma.
And visiting Africans attending college there were denied assistance by Ukraine when the war first began.
You cannot sugarcoat these nazi monsters.
But keep trying.
Zelensky is a coke addict liar and neonazi partner.
History doesn’t matter if you are here with a russophobic agenda.
London will be one of the first places Russia nukes and there is good reason for that.
ROFL. Perfect.
If they begin using missiles… Russia will up the ante.
