I wanted to be a pirate, when I was young
I am glad nobody gouged out an eye and cut off one leg below the knee
“I wanted to be a pirate, when I was young”
I recall a story about a little boy (10?) that said he wanted to be a girl, and his parents were all in. Getting him dresses, dolls, etc.
He said he wanted to change his name to a girl’s name and the parents were excited for that too.
“I want to be called ‘Princess Skystar’”. (After a “My Little Pony Character”)
Of course the parents thought that was a dumb name and gave him some other suggestions. Never thinking that this entire “wanting to be a girl” was based on nothing more than a fantasy of what the child saw on TV.
“...and cut off one leg below the knee.”
There is a rare disorder that causes people to believe that part of their body (usually a limb) is a foreign object and does not belong.
Some doctor in England amputated a limb off of two people before he was forced to stop. (He was not punished).
“I will work to bring back this fundamental right. To be able to bring these two people relief from their suffering has been a high point of my career.”
