BOISE, Idaho — The House Judiciary and Rules Committee pushed a bill forward on Tuesday to ban most gender-affirming care for minors after two hours of intense testimony.
H71, sponsored by Rep. Bruce Skaug, R-Nampa, and Sen. Lori Denhartog, R-Meridian, amends Idaho code regarding genital mutilation of a child to bar those who provide some forms of gender-affirming care to those under age 18. It would make providing the care for a minor a felony, the bill says.

Cutting the balls off of some mentally disturbed kid is not “care”, it’s monstrous. It shouldn’t be a slap on the wrist, it should be a public hanging for any doctor that does this.

Isn’t the language they use really backwards?
Wouldn’t it be gender affirming, meaning to affirm biological sex, if they gave counseling to biological females who have gender dysphoria that they really are female and are not male?
Ditto for males who think that they feel like they are female?
Wouldn’t that be gender affirming if we affirm their actual biological sex rather than convincing them that they really are the opposite sex?
The way they use the term gender affirming it’s as if they’re telling people that they really are the opposite sex , which is not affirming what their actual sex is.
