DeSantis gets things done? What was the last peace deal he brokered or Trade deal he negotiated? What was the last border wall he constructed or liberal Supreme Court decision he was able to reverse due to placing 3 originalists on the court? DeSantis’s greatest accomplishment may be his handling of the Covid crisis which wasn’t perfect but better than most. Beyond that he has a few other wins that he’s been able to achieve with the help of a very friendly legislature, but nothing to compare with Trump, who had to fight for everything he accomplished.
DeSantis added judges to the state Supreme Court, the election supervisors all over Florida. Voter ID in Florida. Sent illegals out of state. He’s done much more than trump did. In fact one major thing DeSantis did was get reelected.

So how’s the immigration crisis doing? The border wall was a great big symbol, but because Trump GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING put into law to reduce illegal immigration we’ve got a worse immigration crisis than ever.
But see, this is what Trump does: he charges off into battle with unarmed troops and leads his warriors into slaughter.
But I will ALWAYS acknowledge he did great to allow the Federalist Society to become the ABA of the right. Good on him. His own ability to pick trustworthy people has been 99% disastrous, but on the most important pick of them all, he let good people do it for him. And if that sounds condescending, it’s not: it’s practically putting him on a pedestal because for the sort of megalomaniac it takes to run a country, that sort of deference was nothing short of miraculous.

DeSantis is doing a fine job in Florida. He seems to have solved the Broward County vote fraud problem (and elsewhere!). He’s reigning in Disney, CRT and more.
I am not sold on him completely yet. My biggest problem with him is that he is a professional politician. I was hoping, thanks to Trump we were done with that political class.
Right now, DeSantis is not so much winning my support, as Trump’s antics are losing it. I of course will vote for Trump if he wins the nomination. It could be that I will be voting for Trump to deny a Rat power like I did in 2016. I gladly voted for him in 2020, I would like to do so again.
