I would say there is a 99.9999% probability they will not lower the retirement age to 65. People are living longer so they will keep increasing the retirement age over time.

What is discouraging to me is how much they tax you simply for receiving your SS benefits.

What is discouraging to me is that there's no way to get out of the damned scheme. With very rare exceptions, we're all herded into it at gunpoint, and kept in it at gunpoint. Then we're supposed to be grateful for the crumbs they give us ... by robbing other people in our name.

It's disgusting.

I remember very well when it came up for a vote to either tax or not to tax social security, which I feel and believe shouldn’t be taxed at all, the vote was a tie. And guess which dumb A$$ was the tie breaker? No one else but that brilliant Al Gore who was vice president at the time. Doesn’t that make you feel good?

Thing is, people are not living longer anymore. So that is not a valid excuse for them.
