Up to 178 "Leopard 1A5" are allowed to be delivered to Ukraine. Exactly how many depends on the state. Defense Minister Pistorius said in Kyiv that there should up to 25 tanks by the summer.
The Federal Ministry of Economics has approved the export of up to 178 Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks to Ukraine. This was announced jointly by the Economics and Defense Ministries in Berlin. The government has already granted permission in principle last week, but had not yet specified a number.
The tanks are currently in armaments factories or in halls. How many of the tanks can actually be delivered to Ukraine depends on the "repair work required"...

But Germany is sending tanks in storage to Ukraine big time they hope to get a hundred or more there by next summer.

Hmmm...According to the “people in charge” (Biden Admin, Pentagon, MSM, NATO, Ukraine) Russia is getting beat quite handily and the war should be over before summer. I mean, everyday I keep reading about how Russia is losing thousands of men, tanks, APCs, etc. everyday and Vlad is emptying his prisons to send replacements to the front.
So if all that is true, I have a few questions:
1. Why does Ukraine need tanks if they are winning this war and the Russian military is about to collapse?
2. How long do the US, Germany and NATO believe it will take to train Ukrainians to operate the tanks proficiently? Weeks? Months?
I was wondering if the Germans have any Panthers, Tigers or King Tigers in storage in order to give them to Ukraine.

I think ‘the Russians’ took care of them many years ago and these Leopards are likely to meet the same fate.

The “coalition of the willing” seems reluctant to send the few modern weapons they have to US backed former state of Ukraine, only to see them destroyed for nothing.
Mostly used for training purposes, most put in storage because there are many newer 2Ax models that are far better. Many 1As were destroyed by the Kurds along the Turkish border.

Yeah, like why did we continue to supply the Russians once they started winning...like totally!!! Once the Russians had turned the tide on the Nazis, we should have totally cut off the Russians...yeah....
Especially when you throw outdated equipment into a modern war, unless Russia roles out a bunch of T-34s the Leopard 1 tanks will likely end up as burning hunks of metal.
Well, the Russians have a lot of those in museums...

I don’t think the Leopard 1’s were ever used in combat by anyone.
