who are the defenders? This is a battle between whether western imperilists will control Ukrain and the black sea or whether Russia will protect its strategic interests.
The US is not an innocent party in this, nor is the present Ukrainina government.

Russia invaded Ukraine. A country whose borders and sovereignty had been recognized by the Russian Federation and whose security was repeatedly (and falsely) assured by Putin.
Russia could end the war and leave Ukraine but sadly no such thing will happen until someone kills Putin.
In the meantime I will support the Ukrainians as they defend Ukraine.
