The "patient" or the reporter is lying, just so Wasserman Shultz can make a P.R. stunt.

Surgical abortion in Florida is legal up until the 15th week of pregnancy (15 weeks after your last period),3, 4 except in cases where the abortion is necessary to save a mother's life, prevent serious injury to the mother, or if the baby has a fatal abnormality.

The woman did not have to "flee" Florida. It is/was a stunt.

In fairness, the law requires two docs to sign off in that last case, and the woman claims that the two docs they went to would not write the letters signing off on the abortion. I’m entirely open to the possibility that they went doc-shopping to find the two reluctant docs for the purpose of the political stunt, since the baby’s condition is essentially fatal anyway, so the abortion wasn’t really necessary; once the baby dies in-utero I doubt any letter would be needed, and as mentioned before: if the pregnancy was so “wanted”, why was she in such a hurry to end it once it became apparent that the baby had a problem?
