Ramos and Campeon was my red-pill moment too along with Dubai Ports and CNOOC (PRC owned oil company) trying to buy Union Oil of California which the Bush Administration supported both of those efforts.
People (like me) were called racists for opposing both the Dubai Ports and the CNOOC takeover of Union Oil. What a disaster that would have been had CNUC been able to buy them.
