Its good in a way that this is happening. If any American thinks that the Dems won’t classify any hunting rifle as an “assault weapon” if given the chance, here is a view into how liberals in any country define “assault” weapons.

All they have to do is look back 100 years when there was an "assault" 30-06 Springfield, .303 Enfield, and M98 Mauser.

Seriously, is a Garand considered an "assault rifle" since the mag does not remove and replace like the AR and AKs? I heard a cool story about crafty wartime GIs and their Garands. Garands ejected their clips when the last round was fired. They would load them up, then "ping" a spare clip on the ground to fool the enemy into thinking the rifle was empty.

Remember 1968 when the US news media and politicians demonized the “Foreign SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL and the 5 shot bolt action army surplus rife till they got them banned?

The same rifles were legal to import after 1968 IF they were issued to a police force and not military.

Once they got those two types of firearms banned they then went after other firearms.
