I see your god is a nasty little tyrant god at your personal disposal who delights in smiling people when their leaders do things you don’t like, burying helpless little babies and old ladies under concrete rubble and such. Christians don’t believe in Karma. It’s a Buddhist thing. I hope you don’t call yourself a Christian, as it’s ones like you who give us a bad name.

Not at my personal disposal, by any means. The fact of “guilt” or “innocence” in the fate of any individual, as a philosophical question, is far beyond my poor capability to reason or understand. The Lord moves in mysterious ways, and sometimes, to the observer, the motives may be too dark to grasp.
And borrowing the concept of karma is not in and of itself a bad thing. There is no such thing as a “pure” Christianity.
But there is faith, even optimism, in the face of oppression and doubt. We may only emulate, to the best of our means, and if we fail, as we surely shall, grace may yet be shed upon us. Piety and obedience are still recognized in the end.

This can go for many such posts that are now common on FR these days. It is a reminder that not all Conservatives are Christians, and (just like many liberals) many of the ones who claim to be Christians let their politics and personal prejudices guide their Christianity and not the other way around.
