The resolution is called “Recognizing Israel as America’s Legitimate and Democratic Ally and Condemning Antisemitism,” and its cosponsors are a who’s-who of the pro-Israel Democrats, including leading Jewish lawmakers.
Also on the sponsor list: Rep. Ilhan Omar, who has been one of Israel’s harshest critics in Congress and who Republicans on Thursday kicked off the Foreign Affairs Committee over her history of anti-Israel and antisemitic comments.
In a press release sent out just an hour ahead of a successful party-line vote to remove Omar from the committee, Omar’s name is sandwiched between the names of Reps. Brad Schneider and Josh Gottheimer, two of Congress’ most vocal pro-Israel lawmakers.
Also included in the list are Jewish Democrats such as Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Lois Frankel of Florida, Kathy Manning of North Carolina, Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Dean Phillips, a fellow Minnesotan who has clashed with Omar in the past.

“Some people did something” is code for “the Jews did it”. The vile rumor being spread by these types was the Jewish workers in the towers knew in advance the attack was coming and stayed home that day.
She can say or think what she wants, but what she’s said out loud signifies that she’s unfit to serve on Foreign Affairs. She’s still in Congress.
Trent Lott is no longer in the Senate over what he said way back when. He was the Majority Leader, and was forced not only to step down from that post, but also to resign. So she’s getting off relatively easy. Now she can trope away, with no further consequences.
Also bring Strom Thurmond back from the dead.
And Jesse Helms.

Pretty disingenuous.
A Libertarian once told me that we have no treaty of alliance with Israel. That LBJ offered them one, but Israel refused because any treaty imposes reciprocal obligations.
Right now, Israel gets all the benefits of an "alliance" with none of the burdens.
