How much of YOUR money is going to help Ukraine avoid falling under the thumb of russia again. Perhaps if you posted your tax returns I could better gage your complaint.

“Getting personal now are we?”

How is what I said “getting personal?” If anyone is getting personal it is someone coming to a public forum to request prayers for a loved one. That’s personal, my friend.

“Are you familiar with the Christian Just War Theory.”

I was taught by Jesuits. I am well aware of Acquinas (a Dominican) and Augustine, and their respective theories on “Just War.”

You say that a war must have a reasonable chance of success. But, isn’t that subjective? Success to one may not be success to another. To me, personally, success is not being defeated; and, to me, defeat is surrender, capitulation, and putting myself at the mercy of the foe. Being killed by the foe while fighting is not defeat; it is simply death. Surrendering, though, IS defeat, because you have accepted putting yourself at the mercy of your foe.

And, as for the end having to be proportionate to the means used; that, again is subjective, and can only be decided by the parties involved. To me, nuking Japan in 1945 was proportionate to the means used. It ended the war, and saved millions of lives had an invasion been necessary (estimates for US casualties alone were put at 1 million).

“Looking past the propaganda, Ukraine is losing and losing badly, to the point where there may not be a Ukraine left.”

Too funny! You say “looking past the propaganda” yet you are embracing it, from the Russian side.

Russia can only defeat Ukraine if it nukes it or commits all its resources and does a Lidice on it. Is that proportionate in your Christian Just War Theory? An invading country (Russia) — who was not first attacked or invaded — nuking its foe (Ukraine), who posed no existential threat?

“And continuing to revel in the violence is evidence of blood lust, not concern for fellow man.”

Who is continuing to revel in violence? The invader, and those who cheer them on. This war could have ended at any time had Russia only withdrawn back to its own borders and issued a mea culpa.

Hmmm.
The Feds send, annually, the same amount to subsidize the budget of the State of California as they have sent to Ukraine in 2022 (more, really, as much of that aid is the “book value” of surplus equipment).

So are you going to make the same noise over that?

Don’t make me laugh.
I don’t give a flying f’ck about the Ukraine or Russia’s thumb.
I don’t think we should spend another dime defending that country.

Can we agree the SR-71 was the greatest plane. Yes, the sats are better. A plane that could outrun any contemporary missiles. It makes me happy.

Well, there are 300+ already pledged, and the first delivered, from Poland, Spain, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, etc.

Add all of it up.

How is that even a rational argument.
Sending war equipment to prolong killing vs subsidizing one of the United States- even if poorly run.

Precisely 0.8% of your Federal tax last year.
@50 Billion out of 6.27 Trillion in expenditures (not collections, as presumably deficits will have to be paid for...)

Giving it to the state of CA is like subsidizing the Democratic party. It goes to paying off their apparatchiks, activists, and voters.

You are hiring your own murderers. This is not just mis-spent money.

I do. We (the U.S. and our allies) have had to spend blood and treasure since 1945 to try and contain the russians. Pres. Reagan was instrumental in breaking up the evil soviet union (russian empire). The miniscule amount we are providing to Ukraine is well worth it to keep the russian empire from being reconstituted again. Stop being short sighted and cheap.

“If I am not allowed to call out your bloodlust you are not just bloodlusted you are a hypocrite.”

Yeah? What is my bloodlust? If wanting the invader to go back home and stop this war is bloodlust, then I guess I have bloodlust. Yet, those who applaud the invasion, and cheer on the death of Ukrainians and the destruction of their homes and villages and towns and cities are NOT full of bloodlust?

I thought this was about supporting Ukraine - but if in your mind, the money the Feds send to California somehow justifies it - that’s fine with me.
I still don’t give a f@&k about the Ukraine and I resent every dollar we send over there.

Asking for prayers is one thing. Taunting them about it later is another. And continuing to make mention of it to someone dealing with something heartbreaking and difficult does not give credit to your character.

But, I’m Catholic, and all too familiar with Jesuits, so that sadly makes some sense.

I will certainly respond to more later, but I will tell you that it is an unmitigated fact that Russia is tearing the life out of the Ukrainians. If you think otherwise, you are delusional. I pay attention to both Ukrainian sources and Russian sources. And it is obvious the Ukrainians are being beaten badly. There’s no denying that.

Did you hear the Aussie merc interviewed on Willy OAM’s channel?? That’s certainly not Russian propaganda. Poor Willy teared up at a few points the news is so bad.

Btw.. Rumor is Zelensky is leaving everyone in Bakhmut hung out to dry because they are the biggest threat to his regime if they ever make it back to Kyiv.

Truthfully though, without a cease fire, the Russians will take control of the everything East of the Dnieper. They may even take it all. The Ukrainian position is hopeless unless the US gets involved directly. Is that what you want?

More from me later.

First, Russia is not giving up Crimea. But Russia was going to pull back to the pre February 24 border, but those peace talks in Istanbul, when almost concluded, were scuttled by Boris Johnson and the globalist neocons. So it seems they want blood, not peace.
