Fighter jets shot down the Chinese spy balloon over the Atlantic today after Joe Biden vowed to 'take care of it' and the FAA shutdown three airports in the Carolinas.
A missile burst the balloon at 2.38pm and separated its payload - the metal structure carrying its cameras - sending it plummeting towards the ocean off Myrtle Beach.
Footage showed a fighter jet screaming towards the spy aircraft before firing a missile which shredded the balloon as stunned locals watched from the coast.
An operation was underway to recover the wreckage and retrieve any valuable intelligence before it sinks into the ocean.

Classic that Biden shoots it down AFTER it flies across multiple states and has time to transmit data.
If it was never a threat, why shoot it down after it leaves?
If it was a threat, why wait to shoot it down? Debris? If debris is enough problem to let it overfly the country, it must not have been considered much of a threat.
As usual, the actions of this administration make no sense.
Agree... was it transmitting?
Chinese can do this once every two or three days and cost the hotels and airlines millions of dollars a day.
In the Billy Graham documentary just on TBN they played the aftermath of 9/11 and the comfort people sought in their rage and fear. To get Billy Graham to the National Cathedral thee was a big problem: no FAA approval for any private or commercial plane was allowed, to screen out Muslim murderers as at the three sites of carnage.
A special permission was then allowed and only one plane was in the air over the United States-—the one carrying Billy Graham to the memorial service.
My understanding is that it is much easier to retrieve whatever it is carrying undamaged, if it falls in water, and if there was/is something hazardous that might be initiated by shooting it down it is better over the sea also.
Chinese excuses:
1) Solar Panels show we abide by climate change priorities.
2) How you know instruments are not banjo, harmonica, guitar and bass to play songs of your honorable Johnny Cash?
Watch China try to demand to get it back...
Agree.
Now the Russians, North Koreans and Iranians can say “Why pick on us? You let the Chinese send spy stuff over you. It’s discrimination.”
This thing went over thousands of miles of empty wilderness but the traitors in the White let go across the entire country.
If we compensate China for their monetary loss we need to remember—10% kickback to the Big Guy!
Yes. This is a great point to catch him on another lie and use it to smear him.
Too bad he didn’t say “So I said get out of the cockpit. Then I grabbed the fighter’s controls, flew up like Tom Cruise and shot the thing out of the skies.”
Closed the airspace, but didn’t close the landing zone to sea navigation? Lots of ships and boats along the coast. More people there than in the Sand Hills of Nebraska or Eastern Montana. Or are we just too slow?
c’mon man!
they couldnt shoot it down until it had finished it mission
otherwise the big guy wouldnt get his 10%
“Biden says he ordered Xi’s Spy Balloon to be shot down on Wednesday but was overruled by military until the surveillance aircraft was over water”
Biden is constantly saying he can’t do this or that because he will ‘get in trouble’. Sounds like the Military is in charge, not Biden. Just like some people said was the case a long time ago. Funny.
I’m so old I can remember when they couldn’t shoot it down because it was “too high”.
Did it come down so we could shoot it down?
Dropped in 45 feet of water off Myrtle Beach data saved wonder if we get to hear what it was?.
Is that a real photo?
“Biden says he ordered Xi’s Spy Balloon to be shot down on Wednesday but was overruled by military”
So I had this rank things all backwards? Maybe it’s the Mess cooks who actually call the shots?
Their policies can be defined as sabotage.
They were mapping high altitude air flows. They want to be able to float that EMP device to JUST the right spot before setting it off when they invade Taiwan.
