Did the Mt. Washington hill climb bicycle race in the 80’s. Even in the summer the weather can become unpleasant very quickly.

Colorado record low was -61 without windchill and record wind is 147 MPH. good that they did not happen at the same time in the same place. I would have thought Alaska would have the record low temperature.

And before this, Mt. Washington also holds the world’s record high wind speed of 231 mph, set in 1934. That’s the highest wind speed not associated with a tornado, hurricane, or cyclone.

I checked with the website, as of 2030 this evening the temp was -45.9f and winds just above 100 mph. Wind chill at -108f.

-45 degrees (without wind chill) National Weather Service, Mount Washington, New HampshireI believe the record is -47. So two degrees short with plenty of time to go.
