This is avoidable. Admitting Ukraine to NATO was the trigger. Remove that trigger.
Except, that Ukraine has within it many US interests, doesn’t it? They’re tied to individual members of Congress, Presidents, and others.
Discovery and airing of those interests are apparently unacceptable, and worth risking global thermonuclear war.
