Of course they aren't. They expect the maid service to do that for them. In a $500/night room, who wouldn't expect the same level of service?

In the California hotels they said the room service meals and snacks were served in rooms rather than have the “homeless” or drug addicts evicted from the sidewalks have to go down to search for a drug deal on the streets.
Wanted to avoid what Allen Ginsberg’s poem said:
“I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked, dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix, angel-headed hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night....”
