Thank you for your post. He was one of a kind. I'm really glad he survived his wild years. And as an aside, I loved his stints in the late '90s and early 2000's filling in for Paul Schaffer as band leader on Late Night with David Letterman. He was a perfect foil and a brightener for Dave, who had lapsed by then into his "grouchy" persona.

Well, I've seen all there is to see
And I've heard all they have to say
I've done everything I wanted to do
I've done that too
And it ain't that pretty at all
Ain't that pretty at all
So I'm gonna hurl myself against the wall
'Cause I'd rather feel bad than not feel anything at all

You know, I just had a short vacation, Roy
Spent it getting a root canal
Oh, how'd you like it?
Well, it ain't that pretty at all
No, it ain't that pretty at all
So I'm gonna hurl myself against the wall
'Cause I'd rather feel bad than not feel anything at all, yeah

Now I'm gonna get a good running start
And throw myself at the wall as hard as I can, man

I've been to Paris
And it ain't that pretty at all
I've been to Rome
Guess what?
I'd like to go back to Paris someday and go to the Louvre museum
Get a good running start and hurl myself at the wall
Gonna hurl myself against the wall
'Cause I'd rather feel bad than, yeah, feel nothing at all

And it ain't that pretty at all
And it ain't that pretty at all
And it ain't that pretty at all
Ain't that pretty at all
Ain't that, ain't that pretty at all
Well, ain't that pretty at all

They don’t have to have #1s, but be definitely on the radar at large.

I still don’t get the Ramones. Another fringe element.

As for the rest, have at it. I’d only argue whether they truly deserve “HOF” recognition or just close.

Given some of what IS in the HOF, I’d say they all deserve it.

I think the selection criteria for the HOF is a bar set to low. But I also think you have set a bar too high for people.

Linda Ronstadt, for example was an amazing talent and opened the door for female lead singers.

Linda Rondstat doing a live version of ‘Hasten Down The Wind’ which was on Warren Zevon’s self-titled album.

“Boom Boom Mancini” compares very well with Dylan’s “Hurricane “.

One’s about a great boxer and the other is about a guy “who could have been…”.

Man! Thanks for reminding me! “Boom Boom Mancini’s fightin’ Bobby Chacon” has been an earworm for me so many times, and now it is again!

Anybody got a list of all of Willie Nelson’s Rock ‘n’ Roll hits? Dolly Parton didn’t have one either. The commie left hasn’t realized yet that they already screwed up Country music and now they own it.

No kidding! WILLIE NELSON is in the Rock HOF but not Warren Zevon?

CYNDI LAUPER but not Warren Zevon? Totally wack.
