Desantis, until he proves otherwise, is a damn full-time politician and you should have learned a long time ago never to trust a politician.

Except DeSantis did something ALREADY, and Trump was in the White House for four years and did nothing but post incoherent tweets, hold rallies and hand control of the nation over to unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats like Brix, Fauci, et al. Not on purpose, just out of pure, breathtaking incompetence.
That is true. He does actually have a job!
It’s like you have cancer and you’re insisting that you should never trust a doctor. Well, in the last few years, I’ve become very wary of the medical profession, but I’m not going to a real-estate and casino tycoon for chemo, either. I’m not saying Trump is unintelligent, and he’s better on issues than anyone in a long time. But the guy was astonishingly unprepared for the job, had no-one he could trust, trusted in the worst band of miscreants, hucksters and suck-ups ever assembled, and pointlessly got himself in constant trouble so he was never willing to bite the bullet and get rid of the bad guys.
There have been movies made about how dirty Fauci was. He gave the Chinese what they needed to make the virus, and he lied about it. And yet Trump surrendered our nation’s freedom to him like Jar Jar Binks handled Emperor Palpatine.
