If he’s happy with it I’m happy with it. It’s a good looking vehicle imo. Having driven all kinds of cars over the years - I love a rag top on a sunny weekend, but the noise when the top is up as a daily freeway commuter is annoying to me personally. Not sure how it works on the new Bronco. Looks kind of like the old Jeep soft top. I guess the hard top comes off too (?) but I imagine you need 2 or more people to do it, or some kind of pully lift in the garage to remove it and hold it in place for later reattachment.
The car Ford discontinued is the Edge compact SUV. It was selling like hotcakes but they priced it so low they weren’t making any money. Which struck me as odd. They obviously priced it too low, but it was selling very well so they could’ve slapped a couple grand onto the selling price. Instead they decided to try to push people into bigger more expensive models. Hey it’s their company but as a businessman over 30 years I know that when demand is very high you can raise the price. I once worked for a company that accidentally mispriced a consumer product so we were selling it at half the price of competitive products. Eventually management realized the person who calculated the costs made an error we doubled the price of the product... some grumbling but the product still sold very well that deep discount price brought in a lot of customers. Since it was a consumable they eventually used it up and had to buy another. Slightly different from cars of course but still. If it’s popular, why disco it? Just raise the price!
His is a hard top. I think it’s three pieces and all somewhat manageable.
