The question assumes that there was indeed an outbreak of SARS-CoV-2.

Given what we have learned over the last three years, I wouldn’t make that assumption.

In case of clinical signs related to Covid-19 in malaria-endemic areas, PCR screening should be requested in order to identify and isolate patients.

If cross-reactivity is an issue, and if so, I'm betting not just with PCR tests, then case stats really are crap, aren't they...
