I generally agree with what you wrote here. It is a shame that conversation about this conflict is so nasty here on FR.
Like most I imagine, I don’t like Putin or Zelensky and I feel very sorry for all the poor folks suffering because of this dangerous conflict that should not have happened.
It is hard to say anything about it here on FR without someone coming along and accusing you of some thought crime as if they will somehow settle the war by how nasty they are to anonymous posters on a news forum.

You are correct, no one knows the real truth about that is going on over there. One thing that might be considered a truth is the vaunted Russian Army (Soviet Army) has been nothing more than a large Trojan Horse with no one in it. I would surmise that both is soldiers and officers are nothing more than actors wearing uniforms.
I served (US Army), retired and wonder just how much of the last 75 years has been a rabbit hole that we threw defense money into. Watching the Russian army makes me wonder if they could have made 20 miles into Germany had they decided to try an invasion. President Eisenhower may have been right about the Military Industrial Complex. We will never really know and perhaps we are lucky for that.
