Yup. Get all the facts before rushing to judgment. The video is damning (but so was the Rodney King video). One of the greatest injustices that has resulted from new technology is that sensationalism has become so dominant.
No.
It does not matter what those LEOs saw, what they felt, what they were told, what pre-emptied the stop.
They were out of line and also out of their scope of work.
All of them need to be tried for murder.
Nothing else to say until the jury makes a decision.
“kiss the right to due process — or what’s left of it — goodbye.”
Police are entitled to due process.
And so are suspects.
That autopsy is important.
What did they use as “probable cause” to make the stop and why didn’t the young man cooperate from the start? Somebody’s trying real hard to make two plus two equal five.
“Nothing else to say until the jury makes a decision.”
Wanna bet?
From the rumors swirling around, Tyre was banging one of the officer’s ex wives and right after the beating he texted her a photo of Tyre all beaten up..yeah i know its just a rumor but it would explain why this looked VERY personal, this had nothing to do with some traffic violation, could have easily just given him a ticket and moved on but they wanted to kick his ass for a reason
RE: What did they use as “probable cause” to make the stop and why didn’t the young man cooperate from the start?
Good questions. But very few of the articles from the Mainstream media ever botherered to probe this to find the answers to the questions.
Thought experiment, “alternate history”:
We know that in reality, Mr. Nichols was beaten to death by five assailants. Mr. Nichols had good reason to be in fear of death or grave bodily harm.
For discussion:
Suppose hypothetically that, instead of what really happened, Mr. Nichols had been armed. Suppose further that he had been able use his weapon to kill his assailants.
Would you
1) Damn him to hell as a “cop killer”?
2) Recognize him as an innocent, successful self-defender?
3) Something else?
RE: From the rumors swirling around, Tyre was banging one of the officer’s ex wives and right after the beating he texted her a photo of Tyre all beaten up..
In other words, it was TO TEACH HIM A LESSON? But why isn’t this being reported anywhere?
Excellent point. The rush to judgement, in the narrative they want, is one of the greatest powers of the media.
RE: 3) Something else?
Absent all the evidence thus far, I have to go with #3
How do we know that if we have not seen the autopsy?
The "Scorpion unit" doesn't go after people for reckless driving.
They knew this guy and likely had a beef with him. (per various LEO interviews)
because it’s just a rumor ...
RE: They knew this guy and likely had a beef with him.
After reading most MSM articles, that was also my own conclusion ( for now ). IT WAS PERSONAL !
That this was personal to one cop makes sense, but I would warn you about rumors.
Rumors were that Paul Pelosi invited DuPape to his home for a tryst. DuPape arriving with a backpack full of tools, and surveillance footage of him forcefully breaking in through a glass door puts that rumor to rest.
I don’t know the truth about Nichols at all, and I would suspect, few of us do.
When is it justified to beat a suspect to death?
In this case a traffic violation allegedly
We can see what they did on tape
Under what circumstances is that legally permissible
I’m waiting
It’s perfectly normal for folks to form an opinion based on what we all saw
I dont know if its true, its just a “Rumor” but its plausible..especially if the officer(Haley) sent his ex a photo of Tyre right after the beating..and why the rest of the cops jumped in to assist with the beating
